There are tons of beautiful beaches in San Diego but they tended to get crowded quickly. If you’re looking for a more private beach with peace and solitude visit Black’s Beach. This beach is located between La Jolla and Torrey Pines and is often referred to as one of the most secluded beaches in the country. Sunset Cliffs is another gorgeous beach to enjoy a peaceful day by the ocean. Located near Point Loma, this beach has cliffs that overlook the coastline which make it the perfect place to watch the sunset.

San Diego has over 100 peaks to explore. Avoid the crowds at Torrey Pines and Mt. Woods and try something that’s off the beaten path. One great option is Balboa Park which is full of underrated hiking trails and is located near the downtown vicinity.  You can also head to Cuyamaca Rancho State Park which is the closest and most accessible park to San Diego and has over 100 miles of hiking trails to explore. Locals love Stonewall Peak Trail which offers a stunning view at the top.
