The French Quarter has tons to do. It is the city’s oldest neighborhood and cultural hub. See the idyllic architecture which blends Spanish, French, Creole and American styles together. Check out the funky shops at the Treasure Trove which was once an old 1920’s Italian Style market, or browse the galleries on Royal Street. Make sure to come with an empty stomach so you can chow down on some delicious cajun and creole food. Don’t miss the iconic Cafe du Monde and their famous beignets.

What used to be known as the Warehouse District is now home to tons of amazing art galleries, restaurants, and museums. In the 19th Century this industrial area held grain, coffee, and produce to be shipped through the Port of New Orleans. Over time, the streets became quiet until 1976 when they introduced the Contemporary Arts Center to the area. After this, the art community found its home utilizing the open warehouse spaces as galleries. The Arts District is now home to 25 galleries, most of which are located on Julia Street. In the area you can also find world class museums, such as The National World War ll Museum, and of course more delicious restaurants with traditional cajun favorites.
